IU to participate in Inaugural USA Science & Engineering Expo on the National Mall

Mike Boyles, Advanced Visualization Lab, Robert Ping and Eran Withana, Data to Insight Center, will travel to Washington D.C. for the Inaugural USA Science & Engineering Expo on the National Mall, http://www.usasciencefestival.org. The expo is the culmination of the two week USA Science & Engineering Festival and is free and open to the public. Participants will have the opportunity to engage with more than 1,500 hands-on activities and over 75 stage shows. Indiana University will be in the National Science Foundation sponsored TeraGrid booth on Pennsylvania Avenue. Stop by the booth and don 3D glasses to view a 6 minute 3D stereo video about the Linked Environments for Atmospheric Discovery (LEAD) project, learn about Bluewaters - one of the most powerful supercomputers in the world, view 2D scientific visualizations on IPAD technology, go through a parallel computing demonstration on Little Fe and pick-up coloring books highlighting supercomputers and posters highlighting Bluewaters technology and science enabled by the TeraGrid.
